Magui, photojournalist, photographing on a mountain trail

About

Hi, I'm Magui.

I'm an Argentine photojournalist based in Maryland, working around the world. Since I was a kid I've looked at the world searching for wonder — and somewhere along the way I realized I wasn't after the perfect picture. I was after the essence of whatever was in front of me.

For me, photography is finding the shape of the moment: the fraction of a second between what's happening and the eye behind the shutter. I don't direct, stage, or pose. I wait. I watch. I stay close until something true shows up — in a face, in a story, in the gaze of an animal in its habitat.

After more than fifteen years in design and visual communication, the camera became my way of telling what matters. Today I document people, stories, and wildlife — and I take travelers to Tanzania to find their own moment on safari, even if all they bring is a phone.

My photography is the search for that instant when the soul takes shape before your eyes.

I also take on brand and product work for editorial and commercial assignments — with the same eye.
